As a sub-tropical habour city, Shantou is warm and humid throughout the year, with the average annual temperature 21 – 22 degrees Celsius, and the lowest temperature above 0 degrees Celsius and the highest ranging from 36 - 40 degrees Celsius, which are usually recorded in mid-July and early August.
